Allocating a subdomain for Apache userdir?

Is it possible to allocate a subdomain for userdir (e.g. users.domain.name/~username) instead of the standard domain.name/~username setup? If so, how might I go about doing this on a Debian Stable system with no GUI?

you'd just need to only define the userdir module's usage within a suitable virtualhost Once you have your users subdomain working, you'll only get the userdirs when hitting that specific domain.
