active directory + samba + ntlm + squid + dansguardian log file

Respected Sir,
I had implemented the active directory + samba + ntlm + squid + dansguardian.

The problem is that the log is formed in /var/log/dansguardian/access.log

When i read the log it is giving the following information:

DATE TIME IP SITENAME and STATUS whether it is banned or not.

My question is that i need the name of the user who is sitting on that
machine and the sites he has seen.

obviously that user will have the entry in active directory.

I will be very thankful if anybody can help me out.
With Regards
Jatender

Which version of DG you use ?

To answer your question we need the following as these does matter at least it did in my case.
1. OS version
2. SQUID version: compiled/OS default? If compiled then compilation options?
3. DG version
4. Samba version: compiled/OS Default?

I did the thing on test basis and was successful but its very painful. As slightest mismatch will prompt the user a login pop up window which is very annoying.

it's a config option

Whether or not to include information that might identify an individual -such as username- in the DansGuardian logs is a config option. Set either 'anonymizelogs = on' or 'anonymizelogs = off'.

If your DansGuardian logs don't include username, but you want them to, edit dansguardian.conf to change to
anonymizelogs = off
then restart DansGuardian.

thanks! -Chuck Kollars
