ACLs in Samba shares

Hi,

I've setup a Samba share and users are able to login with their unix username/password and access the share.

I have setup some ACLs on various folders within the share, and these do work when the users are logged in locally.

However it appears that the ACLs aren't applying to the Samba share, instead the folders are accessed from the account that the Samba server process is running under.

I know how to do this on Windows, it is the default behavior, this will be the last thing I need to be able to switch over this server to Linux.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Greetingz!

It sounds like you have "force user" set somewhere in your smb.conf file.
You can review your smb.conf file (and any unspecified defaults) by running "testparm".

If you should happen to post the output from your smb.conf file, please remember to wrap it in

tags.

Thanks!
