Accessing data on a server on VLAN

Hi all:

I have some folder on a server on our VLAN. I have to run an executable on my local machine, and this executable uses a config file to read some data; this file has to point to some folder on the server for the data. The folder size is 25GB on the server and hence, I cannot copy it onto my local machine. How do I point the config file to the data on server?

I tried doing this:

PATH = 172.16.46.115/Path-to-Data-Folder/

But it does not run. Please help.

How do I make changes in the /etc/fstab file, so that I can point to that folder?

Hi,

I have solved it. I used 'sshfs' to mount a remote file system. But, I have to manually mount this every time I start my OS. Is there any permanent solution so that it gets executed automatically as I start my OS?
