access Samba share from a windows 2003 host name only

Good day
We are looking to create a samba share on a SUSE server that is accessible by a windows 2003 server only using the IP address for read-write permissions.

We have created the share that is accessible from our linux server however we are prompted for a user name - password when we attempt to access it.

I have done extensive research on this and I realize this can be done I have run a little shy on talent even searching through google on the exact settings required within our smb.conf file

Any help, suggestions or example configuration files will be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Roger

post your smb.conf and then we can help. you have not provided enough detail for anyone to do anything but take wild guesses.

also explain in detail exactly how you are trying to connect the share.

Sorry on the delay in getting this file up. We have had some success however comma..

We are looking to have an anonymous share where any users on this closed network can access it. We have had success in setting the file up (see below) both file shares to share with a number of windows 2003 servers on an older 2003 domain as well stand alone workstations (windows 7, and XP). Any of our windows 7 and XP that are installed on a 2008 windows domain cannot access it.

If we comment out the "security = share" in the file below then our windows 7 and XP workstations on the domain can access as can the server from the older domain but the windows 7 standalone boxes will not access it. We are not overly concerned about the security aspect (closed network) and there are only 3 standalone windows 7 boxes that we can do pretty much anything to.

We are running with SUSE 10 (i think) as well samba version 3.0.28-05-1657. Making this linux box or the three standalone workstatiosn a member of the forest on either domain is not an option

Hopefully there are some smart samba people can take a look and provide some ideas.

Thanks in advance
