[SOLVED] Can't access NRM via http or https - SLES10 SP2/OES2 SP1

Hi all,

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I am what is commonly known as a n00b. I know very little about Linux and even less about OES, but I've been tasked with building a SLES/OES2 file server by my boss.

I've installed the OS, installed all required services for OES with his help/guidance, and got everything up and running. I can access iManager but not Remote Manager. Here is what happens assuming a fresh restart of the server:

1. Go to https://server_ip:8009
2. See login page
3. Attempt to log in as non-existent user, receive invalid username/PW message.
4. Attempt to log in as root, IE hangs while connecting.
5. Attempt to reload https://server_ip:8009, IE hangs forever until I reboot again.

The same is true for http or https. I can telnet to servername.domain.com on 8009 but cannot get at it from IE. I can only see the login page but as soon as I log in it hangs.

I have played around with stopping/restarting httpstkd, looking through the config file for the nolum parameter, and other things that were suggested in about 3 hours of google searching. I'm stuck. Anything else I can look for?

Thanks!!

Edit: BTW logging in as a non-existent user is just to verify that the request is being sent. It seems there is communication with the server if it is validating and giving me the wrong username/pass response, no?

Solved. Under Linux User Management in the OES config I hadn't selected anything except openwbem. After selecting Login as an available service for auth'd users, both iManager and Remote Manager are working. Doh!

I am having a similar issue with NRM. But not with iManager... I can get into iManager fine but I can't access NRM it says "Login Error! Username or Password invalid. Please try again."

Thanks.

Disregard... I fixed it in LUM.... Sorry to bother you all....
