[screen program] Using with wine GUI program?

Hi,

Ok, so I have a laptop and a desktop computer used as a server (no monitor, no keyboard, no mouse). I like to play some Windows games from time to time and, need to keep the app running for the given game.
I play on my laptop, but happen to need to shut it down and bring it with me. Therefore, I would like to be able to play on the laptop but have the app running on the server.

So far, I have been able to connect to the server via SSH, launch and forward the application window to my laptop. The problem is when I try to close the connection: I haven't been able to have the window continue running after the disconnection ('screen' didn't work for obvious reasons).

After some search, I stumbled across this page: http://www.hermann-uwe.de/blog/how-t...tion-via-ssh-x which seems to point exactly to what I want to do. Unfortunately, xmove, the perfect solution for me, is no more in Debian Lenny packages. The only option I see that is still valid is using VNC. The problem is it would require me to install a vnc-client on my notebook and I'd like to avoid that (but might do it if there are no alternatives).

In short, my question is: is there some kind of a "GUI equivalent" to the screen program?

Regards,
Vhann

there's xpra which is similar. you can try that. from the docs, it is better for 3D games. web page: http://partiwm.org/wiki/xpra

it seems xmoves source code is not anywhere, hence no self-compile.
