[HELP]Need Help with install of Reddit for possible job

Ok so i might have a job opprotunity, i would need to learn how to install hadoop on Centos.
I can find install guides for Ubuntu here
https://github.com/reddit/reddit/wiki/Install-guide
and for Fedora 13 here http://code.reddit.com/wiki/DependenciesOnFedora13

I'm trying to do this to be proactive and get a basic understanding of how things work with hadoop/cassandra.
Anyone know how to deploy it? Or know of any How-to-guides? This would help me out soooo much you have no idea. This is the big break that i really need to get my foot in the door as a Sysadmin.

sideinfo:this is for a junior position, they will send me to training for hadoop. I work for a contracting IT company.
Also i understand that centos is a descendant of fedora, however i want to be able to show the higher ups something visual, and something running on centos, not fedora(hopefully).
I don't know if they understand that they are similar, i also want something visual that they can see (reddit) that i can get working.
Reddit is a big name social website, if they can see (visually) that i have a server running Reddit on CentOS it would look really great for me to get the job. Thanks

Thanks in advance for all the help

Sorry I can't help directly as I don't use Reddit.

However, I did want to mention that CentOS is a binary compile of RHEL source so if you find install for RHEL 6 then it should be the same for your CentOS 6. I'd suggest doing search for RHEL and Reddit as it may lead you to what you want.

It isn't exactly correct to say CentOS is a descendant of Fedora. Fedora and RHEL (and therefore CentOS) are descendants of the original RedHat. Fedora is non-commercial but supported as an organization by RedHat. RHEL is commercial. CentOS is a non-commercial compile of the commercial source for binary compatibility. While Fedora is used as a test bed for much of what later ends up in RHEL (and therefore CentOS) there is not a one to one correspondence. The release cycle for Fedora is very aggressive so it is bleeding edge. RHEL has a much longer life cycle specifically to allow companies that use it to not have to change everything they're doing frequently. RedHat back ports bug and security fixes into RHEL to insure it is still viable for corporate environments without making wholesale changes to the environment the applications are resident on.
