xinetd, X traffic, hosts.allow

I am runing Mandrake 9.0 which uses xinetd. My hosts.allow is
set to:
sshd: hostname: ALLOW

My hosts deny is set to deny all traffic.

However, I can still connect to the machine with above configuration
with X traffice in the raw and not tunnelled through SSH.

Any answers?

IIRC the syntax is "<process name>: <host or range>".
Dunno for sure if ALLOW/DENY/EXCEPT are deprecated.

I assume you mean the syntax in the /etc/hosts.allow file.
Do you know where I can find more information on the
IIIRC syntax.

Sorry for the confustion. IIRC is an acronym meaning "If I Recall Correctly". Here's some acronym sites: geek2geek.org, netlingo.com and acronymfinder.com.
