win32 virus removal using Linux

When I unzipped an archive in Win2k, my AVG gave a Virus alert. It cannot be removed while running Windows, or even with a special tool that I ran from C:\ I recall seeing a Linux tool to fix these embedded virus, but I can't find it now. Any help, experiences or advice would be appreciated.

BTW, Trend Micro's HouseCall also identified it, but could not fix it.

TNX,

dad :newbie:

Try Ultimate boot CD (UBCD) which comes with many virus removal tools on the cd

Or use Knoppix, update the version of F-Prot which comes with it and then scan your hard drive.
