Question

Hi all,

Could someone kindly help? I scanned my linux box, which is a RH 7 distro, and saw that a whole bunch of UDP ports open. Every other fourth UDP port was open starting from port number 1 or something. Does anyone know what this means? It doesn't make sense that all of those ports are open. I set my scanner to scan a few thousand UDP ports but couldn't wait for it to finish because it was returning so many opened. Where would I find the services that are keeping those ports open? It doesn't make sense that that many services are running.

Appreciate any help you might give.
TIA.

Do you have something like portsentry running? This would make a lot of ports appear as if they were open. If not give us a list of ports so we can try and see what is running.
