Weird file in /usr/bin

Hi to all

I have noticed today, there is a weird file in /usr/bin, named "stgrRddz". The file is empty, "cat"doesn't show anything. Could it be a virus or a rootkit?

Hi,

No idea what that is. Can you post the output of "stat stgrRddz", just in case something else about the file stands out as meaningful to anyone?

Thanks

...and since only root should be allowed to place files in those directories I suggest you inspect your system as a whole. Could use the CERT Intruder Detection Checklist as basis if you have no idea how.
