I am tirying to follow
this tutorial but is not working for some reason.
I wonder if anyone can help me out, so I do the following, I create the key:
ssh-keygen -t dsa -f ~/.ssh/id_dsa -C "jza@laptop".
Then I copy the key to the remote server:
scp ~/.ssh/id_dsa jza@ghpadmin:.ssh/
Finally I do the following command, which inserts the key into the
authorized_keys file.
cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub | ssh jza@server 'cat - >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys'
The final step is just doing the signing however instead of asking me for a passphrase it ask me for the general command. So I was supposed to get this:
Code:
$ ssh jza@server
Enter passphrase for DSA key 'you@example.com': ^D
$
instead I got this:
Code:
$ ssh jza@server
jza@server's password:
$
So what did I miss for not getting the passphrase instead of the password.
