using email via ssh

Hey guys, im ssh'ing into my server and i want to use that server to read and write email, as well as possible text browse the web.

1. what text based prog. do i use to read and write email...the email server is my isp.

2. what is that prog. to text browse the web. Linx or something?

For text based mail try "elm" or "pine".

For browsing the net - "lynx".

I use lynx for web browsing and mutt to read email. Qmail is the mail server and I also get some mail from some third party pop servers with getmail.
