users and groups

I'm looking for a scheme for users and groups for a linux system. I have seen the Solaris users and groups, but I did not get these during the install of Red Hat 9.
Is there a good FAQ ot HOWTO for this somewhere?

This is a good start point for users and groups (from RUTE).

If you are just after a list of the default users and groups, the RH website/knowledgebase would be a good start place.
