user own directory..!!help


i am mandrake 10.0 user+KDE.

i accidently give the permission to all users.li9ke this chmod -R /home/staff/

now all the users reading my documents.

now how to set a default setting.

i mean user1 should read and write the /home/user1 home dir.

and user2 should read and write the /home./user2 home dir.

users use their own directory.




please help me...!!

By default, they are 711 on most systems I believe. So just do a:

chmod 711 /home/staff
That will keep others from reading your documents, but it will not restore the files within /home/staff to their orginal permissions. No way to do that that I know of.
