Traceroute Problem


When I tried to run trace route it give me an error "Hostname lookup failure". Why does this happen?
plz help

what exactly are you trying to trace ? that message would indicate that you wernt able to lookup the hosts ip address, retry the trace using the hosts actual address then if that works, look into why your dns resolution is failing

The prob seems with your nameservers (DNS) are they set correctly and are they working if not then try using the IP addr instead.

so hangon, your trying to execute the traceroute binary without passing it any actual parameters ? not being funny ... but what did you expect ?
