The best firewall for Slackware?


Those anyone have a clue which firewall who is the best for Slackware?

IPTABLES, when configured properly works Great as a firewall.

Stop downloading it. you already have it. Although maybe a new version wouldn't hurt?

anywho, IPtables is not an easy to use firewall, yet VERY effective.
What you want is something that works as a front-end for IPTABLES. kmyfirewall is what I have used and although it wasn't very clear you may be able to get the hang of it. I would not usually suggest a KDE program but it's the only one I've seen, although I did not search much.

Shorewall is probably your best bet. It uses iptables (already on your system) and is very powerful. Because of this it's not as easy to configure as you might think though...

i would go with shorewall too or mason,etc... but if you are a gui man, try fwbuilder or firestarter or guarddog,etc...
