Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I don't know where else to place this question:
Where can I find some good docs about Syn Dos (other kind of attacks is ok too but Syn DoS is mandatory) attacks and how can I detect those kind of attacks (I'm interested in TCP/IP packets and so on)? I need to make a program that can do that and I didn't find anything useful (My program shouyld be a kind of IDS - Intrusion Detection System).
Thanks and sorry if I misplaced the question!
Thanks a lot
From what I saw (I just took a look) it might be quite a comprehensive site.
I will take a better look when I have enough time to spend on the net. (Low bandwidth+little time = NO CHANCE)!!!!
