Sudo message

I have just used 'sudo' again, and for the very first time I've encountered the following text before the password prompt:

Code:
We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System Administrator.
It usually boils down to these two things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
Googling for this text I've found that is a normal message of 'sudo' somehow, but I must have used it hundreds of times before and never saw that bit, I just saw the password prompt. On June 24 I updated 'sudo' to version 1.6.7 (0.p5.2.2) and I've been using this since then, but I never saw that message until today.

I've verified the RPM package with 'rpm -V' and it passed the tests.

What gives? Is this normal? Why now and not before?

Many thanks in advance for any hint.

I can't answer as to why you haven't previously seen that message when using sudo. Perhaps you were using sudo on a different system, or perhaps the older versions previously used did not include that prompt. I assure you that it is normal though as I have seen it on different distrobutions of GNU/Linux.

All the previous uses of 'sudo' that I referred to were in the same system. I never saw the message with the previous versions, but I haven't seen it either with the last version that I've been using up to four months now (installed at the end of June). That is, I have been using this same version for four months, and I haven't encountered this message until today.

By the way, after appearing two times (just when I discovered its presence [the first time I didn't enter any password; the second time I entered it]), the message has not showed up in the two following 'sudo' uses that I've tried.

I downloaded again the RPM package that I installed in June, extracted the 'sudo' binary to a directory and compared this (md5sum) with the binary present on my system. Checksums coincide. I previously verified it with 'rpm -V' and it passed as well.

Thanks for your comment, though I'm still puzzled.
