So there's 'no way' to keep the pashphrase stored on the box permanently?

well "securityfocus" has like 3 big articles on ssh-agents and alike... can't remember exactly but there should be a way but the root of a system can always mess with your ssh-agent .. even it's possible to have a ssh-agent-forwarding to other boxes.. I have to test all this to know exactly what's happening but I don't have more then 1 remote shell to conect to... very bad for research

can pls someone tell me what is the difference between host based lets say rsa keys and user based rsa keys is the host key usable for root access or what is the purpose just to have it in known hosts? to authenticate the host and then the user key??? if so how to make sure both keys take place in login attempt

many thanks in advance!
