Hi ,

I am trying to configure ssh timeout in my linux server but its not working. in my configfile i put these two entries.

MyLinux:~ # tail -2 /etc/ssh/sshd_config

ClientAliveInterval 2
ClientAliveCountMax 1

I am using ssh version 2 only. But timeout not working can someone tell me what's the problem

Firstly have you restarted the system or at least the deamon?

The only other thing I can think of is that your values are too small

try
Code:
ClientAliveInterval 30
ClientAliveCountMax 4
This will give 4 tries 30 sec each on the server's side (a total of 2 min).

I hope this helps

it's depend if you are connecting to your server from a Windows box using putty or from another Linux box. If you are using putty within Windows. You have to turn off the connection keepalive within putty.
