SSH Permission Denied
Hi Guys/Gals,
Having some trouble with SSH I am afraid :( I am trying to run Anope with its own account as root isn't permitted but I seem not to be able to create a SSH connection using this account because I keep getting "Permission Denied". I have checked that the user has been added, it has its own shell /bin/bash and is also allowed in the sshd_config file and the password is correct. Anyone willing to advice me what I have done wrong or missed out? I am sure its a stupid mistake. Unfortunately I have no physical access to the server as it is a rented dedicated root server. Oh yes, I read on the forum that the user need a ".ssh" directory in its home area. I haven't made this directory yet because I am not sure on how to make a dir with permissions for that user with a root account. Atm, the only account I have is root by default. Thank you :) |
Not sure where to start with SSH, but the part about changing file ownership is easy...
