squid server with ldap authentication

Hi folks,

Does anyone here have already installed or configured a proxy server using squid and restriction are based from ldap authentication. Let say, this group are banned from being downloaded a certain website. Is that possible in squid server?

Any site you can recommend like howto setup squid server. Another thing is I wanna know which is better dansguardian or squid alone?

This link will give you a good understanding of how to configure squid proxy server.

Although I have not tried, you should be able to configure squid to authenticate via LDAP. Check the squid-cache documentation.

Hi Guy,

Is this still an issue for you or have you resolved it?
