Hi,
Everytime I login to my PC, after enter Username and Password in shell, some sentences appear !! I dont know what happend for my LINUX !! any suggestions will be so appresiated.
"Some sentences appear"???? do you really expect anyone to be able to help with such little useful information? Surely you can actually tell us what the messages are?
Either you are using a very obscure distro written my someone with a warped sense of humor, or someone has been playing with your computer.
What distribution?
What were you doing before this happened? eg did you make any HW or SW changes, visit any unusual web sites, etc.
Does it make any difference if you log in under a different name? (If necessary, create a new user to test this.)
The Device is Secpoint Penetrator (linux version 2.6.21.5-smp) and include varios Penetration SW, I think this unexpected messages comes from one of this softwares (wish I wrong)!!
While it may run a Linux kernel this is in essence a commercial device. While the admin menu gives you access to various logs to read and save, instead , that is if you own the device (in the sense that you have a license for it), I suggest you contact their support team to have an authorised engineer from the company assess the situation. The reason is simple: any "tampering" may destroy "evidence" in the process if you don't know how or where to look for things or may like invalidate your license et cetera, et cetera. In the meanwhile, if the device is located where access to it can be restricted I suggest you add an access restriction for world and only exclude one trusted management IP address. If it can't be shielded that way you could unplug network cables (or have them unplugged for you) because I don't know if any logging survives after power off.
That is what I thought at first too - but none of these statements are in any of my fortunes files...
But would this kind of device have those installed? Almost certainly not without someone knowing to have installed those - if that is even possible.
When I hear that statement I think they are just telling you that they don't know eighter - or don't believe you - and try to silence you with that promise which could take ages or may never happen and saves them the work of having to deal with what you see.
If THAT would be a firmware issue... they would release a new one soon and would have told you: we know and we are sorry - we are at it - next version coming soon.
(blah blah ... we are not interested - is what I hear)
What? I don't understand what "a future of relevant firmware" means.
I'm guessing they meant feature rather than future. Either English is not their first language, or they're one of the many native English speakers who can't be bothered to make sure that what they type is actually coherent.
