Setting up a Debian proxy with firewall and virus protection

Hi Linux community,
we are running a computer lab at a school in Ghana and recently got connected to the internet via a larger network. To secure our subnet, we want to...

- configure our Debian-Linux as a proxy and...
- have a firewall running
- have an antivirus program running, that also checks all the http traffic (downloads over http)

The only thing we could find until now to meet our needs was DansGuardian, but we couldn't find a place to download a version that is not too difficult to install. We don't have any clue how to work with source codes.

Maybe someone has a solution.

have a look at the gibraltar project : www.gibraltar.at

you can set this up to be a transparent box, which will act as a firewall and as a transparent proxy (which means no client needs to know about it's existance) it also comes with clamAV which is a free antivirus app, which has a lot of plugins.
it runns of a live cd, which means in case of intrusion, maliciouse files cannot be saved
