No, this is a universal truth. Thus, the saying, "You can't fight city hall". There may be checks that have to be taken before the cops are allowed to take your property (from them saying, "I'm gonna take this" to going to a judge and getting permission, to a vote by all of the voting populace of your community). But, once they have permission to take your property, they can take it, and you can't stop them (without breaking more laws).
