Security issues with Parallel Desktop running linux on a Mac
Hi guys,
I am running Linux Mandriva 2008.1 in Parallel Desktop (VM) on a Mac Host. There is no possibilities for me to have a shared folder so I am using FTP to transfer my downloads from my VM Mandriva to my Host Mac OS 10.5.2. I am actually using VNC on Mandriva and I let my MAC take over. My main concern is that when I use VNC my VM running Mandriva is by default made available on the network at my work. I don't want anyone accessing my stuff or even remotely seeing anything on it. I have put a login and password to access that FTP server but still is there anyways I could make that VM invisible on the network? As well, what type of firewall I could be using to protect that VM? I know there are plenty out there but the difficulties is that I am using NAT on a shared network with my host.
Thank you for your help,
Riganta
