Root Password Lost !

Hi, friends, Myself Gurmeet.Bedi...

I installed OpenSuSE 10.1 recently, Installation was very successfull and it was running very smooth until i forgot my Root Password....

Plz, help me how can retrieve my lost password without reinstalling linux.

What about Repair.... Can it do the job ?

on your bootloader screen, either grub or lilo, edit the kernel boot options and add a "1" to it. this will boot to runlevel 1 and automatically make you root. just run passwd then to change your password. alternatively any number of boot cd's shoudl give you access to /etc/shadow on the local machine where you can delete the md5 crypt password string for root.
