Project ideas
 

Hi everyone,
I am a final year Engineering student, and I want to do a project to complete my graduation. Can anybody suggest me with some nice ideas? I am really interested in developing some security related software such as antivirus/firewalls etc. Can somebody direct me to sites/projects which do development Linux in these areas? I'll appreciate any help.

Can you give us some ideas as to what the goal is? What ideas you already have? How many time you can spend on it? What projects you have already done (finished, production code)? I don't mean to offend you, but it would be rather useless to come up with great idea's if the goal is only to make nice Hungarian formatted code that won't be developped further or maintained when it's finished...

Thank you very much for the replies.
I am really a newbie as far as this site is concerned, and didnt had any idea about crossposting. However, I'll make sure that it wont happen again.
Most of the projects I have done till now were related to e-Commerce, in most of the cases I had to do that because of my course requirements. I haven't developed any open source software yet, but I am really willing to do it. I have about 6 months to complete my project, and all that time I will be working full time on it. I will be working on it after the prect duration is over.
I am really interested in firewalls or worm detection systems, so if anyone of you have any thoughts or links on these topics, please reply.
