PGP signature

here's what I got,

-rw-rw-r-- 1 user user 226817 Sep 11 2001 procmail-3.22.tar.gz
-rw-rw-r-- 1 user user 366 Sep 11 2001 procmail-3.22.tar.gz.sig

bearing in mind that there was a trojaned copy of procmail out there, I want to check this signature on this thing, but have no idea how the whole thing works.

Can someone help?

cat that sig here, not sure what kind it is.
I have a suspicion it's an MD5 signature not a PGP key.
