Penetration test


Hi friends
I want to make a penetration test for servers in my network, The most servers OS's are Linux and some are Windows servers and Solaris, I'm looking for a Linux based powerfull and helpfull tool I can use for this testing, Can some one help me.

A good start would be nmap.

I used nmap for scanning , But not penetration, Do you have a good documents explain how to use it in penetration ??

Look at OpenVAS/Nessus for vulnerability scanning. I use it at work to keep on top of things.
