Patching IPTABLES ?? Need Help??

HI All,

I am trying to get the function of -m time. I am running FC2 with iptables-1.2.9-2.3.1 and Kernel 2.6.10-1.771_FC2smp.

When I try this
iptables -A INPUT -s 10.0.0.250/255.255.255.255 -m time --timestart 08:00 --timestop 09:00 -j ACCEPT

it gives me this
iptables v1.2.9: Couldn't load match `time':/lib/iptables/libipt_time.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

now I know I dont have the system patched up and after a lot of google, I got the patch-o-matic from netfilter.

Now I dont knwo what and how to just add the time module...

Any help in this regard...I will be gr8ful...

Regards,
Shehzad

Make sure you have the appropriate kernel source code for version along with the iptables source code installed on your system (make sure you know their locations too). Run the patch-o-matic "runme" executable which will start a text based wizard and will ask you which POM patches you want to install. Once the kernel is patched, you then compile the kernel and iptables. I don't remember offhand if you need to specifically enable the "time" functions during the kernel source configuration step, but it's a good idea to take a look at all the netfilter option anyway.

Here's a guide for reference:
