password works only for intended user

Is it possible to make a password usable by one user only?

This is about a community site in the making, it cannot be made available to people other than the volunteers who contribute to it and we want to prevent access to people to whom over-enthusiastic volunteers may have given their passwords.

This is to prevent premature public access to the site and to prevent the passwords being changed by other than the valid volunteer.

Thank you for your help.

Seems pretty difficult (or impossible) to manage if people are giving out their passwords. I guess volunteers can't be fired for violating security policy? How about requiring a password change every few days?

Thank you for the suggestion, I thought it would not be easy.
