password for microsoft word file


hi it seems some1 fiddled with the microsoft word file on my pc and has changed the password of it..can some one guide me to get back my file..it has real imp data!!!1

Not sure, but I remember reading somewhere that certain types of meta data from MS files was ignored by open office. You might just be able to open the file with OO.org and get into it.

Other than that, I had to purchase a program to unlock an Outlook folder that somehow got password protected. I think it cost me like $15, but I'm not sure if worked on doc's as well.
