Could anyone help me work out what is going on with the packet forwarding on my Redhat 8.0 box.
Kernel version is 2.4.18-24.8.0, iptables used as firewall.
From the redhat box, everything is fine. However from the internal network, every couple of minutes, the packet forwarding is stopped for 30 secs to 1 min before starting up again.
I have never had this problem before with 7.2/7.3, and as far as I know I have set everything up the same, the firewall rules are from the offsite backups.
Strangely, for the last two days it has been working fine, even though I have just left the machine be, perhaps it wanted to get comfortable in its new home.
