If I have a super user terminal open on my desktop, and someone manages to get into my home account via the Internet would they then have su privileges?
Theoretically, it might be possible to do so via X calls to another window, but it would be a bit of a pain. I'd say the risk from this is remote, even IF you were locally compromised. (OTOH, if you have sudo privileges, you're done for.)
