Question normal user unable to use ping command after changing the security level to higher

Linux version 2.6.24.5-desktop586-2mnb (qateam@titan.mandriva.com) (gcc version 4.2.3 (4.2.3-6mnb1)) #1 SMP Thu Jun 12 14:26:44 EDT 2008

I changed the security level from high to higher and then back to the way it was in the mcc.

Still unable to use the ping command to ping another host as a normal user only ass root.

checked this and
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all=0 (enabled)

Get this message ping: icmp open socket: Operation not permitted

Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

Figured it out

ping didn't have its SUID-bit set.

fixed it by (as root)

chmod u+s ping
