Question nettools

hi!
i downloaded the net-tools pck. and compiled it ..
i run
./configure
make
checkinstall

i need the rarp daemon from there. cause kernel2.4.27 doesnt support it..
but when i run

azul@dodo:/usr/src/net-tools-1.52$ rarp
Usage: rarp -a list entries in cache.
rarp -d <hostname> delete entry from cache.
rarp [<HW>] -s <hostname> <hwaddr> add entry to cache.
rarp -f add entries from /etc/ethers.
rarp -V display program version.

<HW>=Use '-H <hw>' to specify hardware address type. Default: ether
List of possible hardware types (which support ARP):
ether (Ethernet) arcnet (ARCnet)
azul@dodo:/usr/src/net-tools-1.52$ rarp -a
This kernel does not support RARP.

is there something else i should do ?
or may be copy the rarp script into somewhere else so i can use it?

thanks!

It looks like if the kernel doesn't support rarp protocol, no user space tool can help you.
Try recompiling the kernel and switch rarp support on.
