Need help with Ntop

I'm a total noob in the Linux world, and I'm also learning some things about security. I need to know how does Ntop works, what can I do with it, and how do I do it, plz, this is very important and urgent, I'd appreciate any help.

P.S.: As always, plz, forgive me my really band english, but as you may know, my native language is spanish
