mysql database error


database: 'mysql' support is not compiled into this build of snort

This Is what i get after I make an output to check for erros after installing Snort with mysql.

Does this sound familiar to you guys?

What to do?

compile snort properly.... check the documentation for snort. you will presumably not have configured snort right for mysql.

But snort and mysql Is at RPM

right so you need to find an rpm version of snort that is built to use mysql.

or compile snort yourself (much better idea...)

hum

Yes, i tried. But this Is what I get then:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
version mysql version 4.1

netstat -a | grep mysql

and pass it to the configure script.
