my apache2 website unable to see...firestarter?

I installed apache2 on my ubuntu distro and it seemed to work fine, I changed the sites-available file so instead of /var/www/ it was now /home/greg/public_html/ as far as I knew and iy was working fine. Others were able to see it from other computers. I decided to install firestarter and then suddenly was having issues with being able to see the website at all. So I uninstalled it through Synaptic and it still won't show up. Is iptables having anything to do with it? I am confused and searched around the web but seem to not find the answer.
Thanks for your help. -Greg
