Mount server directory on local box using NFS

Hello
Is it safe to mount a directory from my server using NFS onto my workstation? Both are on the same LAN and there is a router firewall and the server and the workstation both have firewalls.
Thanks

Having a firewall doesn't protect you from specific attacks ...
