Hi,
I was looking for a way to encrypt a partition and to mount it at boot time.
What I tried first was something like:
Code:
cryptsetup crypted_home /dev/sda3
mkfs.ext4 /dev/mapper/crypted_home
/etc/fstab:
/dev/sda3 /home
mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.33.4-smp -m ext4 -f ext4 -C /dev/sda3
... but it didnt work. :/ I remembered that the mkinitrd manual mentioned luks devices, so I did exactly the same, but for the first line:
Code:
cryptsetup luksFormat /dev/sda3
cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda3 crypted_home
.. now it works fine, BUT I would like it to work with plain dm-crypt, without luks. Is there a way to accomplish that?
Im using Slackware 12.2(1?).
Thanks in advance for any help.
