Posts about breaking into computers are generally frowned-upon, but if you really want to do it you'll need to get a very good understanding of BASH, the linux kernel, Linux firewalls, ssh, telnet, iptables, various services and their possible exploits, the /tmp direcory, and perhaps some programming with emphasis on C, BASH scripting, Perl, and other things.
I understand that this can be very good to know about if you're a system/network administrator. Fortunately, it typically takes a lot of learning and respect for the technology to successfully hack into a well-set-up Linux machine. Start there and you'll eventually be pretty good at identifying holes in your network security. Or you could try to break into other people's computers and become acquainted with some law inforcement agencies. HOW-TOs on the matter tend to do little more than get malicious people caught and teach administrators how to break in using exploits which have probably already been patched in newer versions of the software. I hope this points you in the right direction. --Dane |
Hi atul,
The problem with your request is that we don't know why you want to do this. I don't think anyone is going to be too keen on giving you simple instructions in case you are going to use it to break someone's security; and if you don't want to do that I can't think why you want to do it. As a tip, if you just want to go through the mechanism, try breaking into an rsh connection - that's pretty trivial and may give you what you want to know. |
At first, you could find out what the term 'man in the middle attack' means. From your request, I have a strong opinion that you are not really sure what it means.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
