Logitech EX100 encryption

I'm posting this primarily to muse over a Logitech EX100 (wireless) keyboard I just purchased. (It really is a security question - bear with me.)

The keyboard supposedly utilizes wireless encryption, but as far as I can tell that feature is happening at the user application level. (i.e. I am pretty sure there is not a hardcoded / pre-shared key built into the hardware itself.) The user application runs only on Windows.

I was surprised to see that the keyboard range reaches as far as 20 feet away, through walls, etc. This means in spite of all the security I put in place at the OS level, I'm likely transmitting all my typed passwords clear text into radio waves.

Any thoughts on this? Any experiences with this (or similar) keyboard? I'm considering returning it and getting a regular, wired keyboard instead.

Follow up to my own thread: this ain't going to fly. I am taking it back this evening and getting a wired keyboard.
