Logging account lockout

I currently have some RH 7.2, 7.3, and 8.0 machines that have an account lockout at three invalid login attempts. I would like to write a log entry somewhere when the lockout occurs. Can anyone help me?

TIA

Steve

On my system this is done automatically.

Check /etc/login.defs and make sure this line is present:
Code:
#
# Enable logging and display of /var/log/faillog login failure info.
#
FAILLOG_ENAB yes
