Question locking the computer?

I hope this goes under "security"

Does anyone know of a program that can complety lock your computer while you are away from it? Xscreensaver just locks the x session, and textlock locks just the current terminal...
I need a program that would ignore all input from the keyboard and mouse until the correct password is entered.

And another question:
is there a way to make Linux turn off my monitor after the screensaver has been running for a certain time? I'm using slackware 10 updated to slackware-current

thanks!

How would you pass a password to OS if all input were ignored?

I have came across vlock - you can run it with
Code:
vlock -a
on a console (not an xterm) and it will lock all consoles, so that you need to enter a password to even switch consoles.
It can lock a single console as well.

That was under Mandrake, but it appears to be available here:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/vlock/

I think xscreensaver should allow various states of power-down for the monitor.
