ipv4 vs. ipv6
 
what exactly is the difference between ipv4 and ipv6? what are the benifits of using ipv6 as opposed to ipv4? just a website that explains it would be ok. ive looked but usually i cant understand what they are saying. :|

You know the standard IP's are 4 sets of numbers:
1.2.3.4

Well with ipv6, it's 6 ;)

1.2.3.4.5.6

You get a lot more ability with that, and don't have to worry about IP's "running out" unless you get A LOT of people on earth, in which case, ipv8 will of course come out :D

That's my understanding, please, anyone feel free to capitalize on my lack of knowledge in this area and give a better explaination.
