info about ipvs and iptables

hello all,
ive a server where is running ipvs (fc3) to load balacing my webserver.it works very fine but today suddently after some months, the director stopped work. i was not able to ping any of the 3 networkcard ..... i restarted the server and all started working perfectly again... what can be the reason ?

Iptables rules are applied before or after the ipvs ??

seems that all request are processed before the iptable rules.. im wrong? if it is how i can protect the director?

sorry for my english.

thank you

do you have webmin insalled so you can view what order your programs are executed (at boot, etc).

if not, install the whole package(s) of webmin so you can.

it doesn't sound 'serious'.. but i suppose it can be in certain situations (ie like yours).. so i understand your concern.

good luck.
